The Muhlenberg men's basketball team let a 22-point lead slip away and fell at home to Dickinson, 69-67.
The Mules (7-13, 4-9) went 7-of-14 from three-point range in the first half, building a 45-23 advantage. But they did not make a three the entire second half, and the Red Devils (7-9, 6-5) chipped away at the lead.
Dickinson went ahead, 62-61, on a three-pointer with 3:41 to play. The lead changed hands on the next four field goals made, with the Red Devils taking a 67-65 lead on a three with just under a minute to play.
Two free throws made it 69-65, but sophomore
Giovanni Rubino drove in for a layup with 13.6 ticks on the clock, and when Dickinson missed the front end of a one-and-one, Muhlenberg had a chance on the final possession. Rubino got a good look, but his jumper from the lane went in and out as the final buzzer sounded.
Rubino and junior
Justin Allen led the Mules with 14 points apiece, with Allen going 7-of-11 from the field for the second straight game. Senior
Nicholas Chudy, whose career high was 9 points before Monday's win at McDaniel, made it back-to-back game in double figures, scoring 13 points.
Senior
Noah Watson (pictured above) added 10 points.
Freshman
Luke Gordos dished out a career-high 8 assists and recorded 5 steals.
