The Muhlenberg football team scored on five of its first six drives and went on to a 48-21 at Lebanon Valley in a Centennial-MAC Bowl Series game.
Senior
Michael Feaster was named game MVP after catching four passes for 95 yards and two second-half touchdowns.
The win gave the Mules a final record of 7-4 and a postseason victory in five straight seasons. The 27-point margin of victory was Muhlenberg's biggest ever in a postseason road game.
Sophomore
Joe Repetti capped an outstanding first season as starting quarterback by completing 15 of 17 passes for 251 yards and 4 touchdowns, becoming only the second player in program history to throw 30 TD passes in a season. He also recorded his eighth rushing touchdown of the season, one short of the school record for a quarterback.Â
Senior
Owen Daddona, in his final game, made a game-high 13 tackles, including 11 solo stops.
Senior
John Washington intercepted a pass on the third play of the game - his third pick in the last two weeks - to set up the Muhlenberg offense near midfield. Six plays later, Repetti hit junior
Christopher Ardito with a 22-yard touchdown pass to give the Mules an early lead.
Lebanon Valley (5-6) responded with a long 16-play, nine-minute drive that tied the score. After Washington returned the ensuing kickoff to the 40-yard line, Muhlenberg needed only three plays to take the lead: a 28-yard pass from Repetti to junior tight end
Matt McKenna, a 29-yard run by senior
Ethan Brader (tying his career best), and Repetti's 3-yard run into the end zone.
The Dutchmen again put together a lengthy drive, this one 11 plays, to tie the score midway through the second quarter. The defense, stiffened, however, allowing only one first down on the Dutchmen's next six drives. By that time, Muhlenberg had a commanding 41-14 lead.
Senior
Tyler Ekstrom set up the go-ahead touchdown by notching his first career interception at the Lebanon Valley 8-yard line on the first play after he Dutchmen intercepted a pass. Three runs by freshman
Amari Dunn, the last from a yard out, made it 21-14.
After a three-and-out, senior
Thomas Jenkins caught a 15-yard touchdown pass with just 33 seconds left in the half to extend the lead to 28-14.
Feaster caught the first of his touchdown passes, taking a short pass from Repetti on the right sideline and bringing across and down the field for 60 yards, on the Mules' first possession of the second half. His second TD of the game - the 23rd of his career - came from 29 yards out on the first play of the fourth quarter, five plays after an interception by senior
Dominick Visintin.
Muhlenberg's final points came on a milestone pass for two seniors, as
Kevin Olifiers threw his first career touchdown pass, 49 yards to
Dominic Strain, who caught his first.
The Mules' win was part of a 3-0 day for the Centennial Conference in the Bowl Series, with Johns Hopkins defeating Stevenson and Ursinus topping King's.Â
