The Muhlenberg women's soccer team put on a good showing in a 1-0 loss to regionally ranked Swarthmore.
The Garnet (9-2-1, 3-1-1), whose lone losses are to two teams ranked in the top five in Division III, netted the lone goal of the game on a penalty kick in the 26th minute.
The Mules (1-10-1, 0-6) kept the score right there and even appeared to tie the game early in the second half after a hard shot by junior
Paige Addis was saved but not controlled by the Swarthmore goalie. Muhlenberg put in the rebound, but the goal was disallowed because of a foul call.
After getting outshot 12-4 in the first half, the Mules took the same number of shots (9) as the Garnet in the second half.
Sophomore
Sara Pecorelli made 6 saves in goal.
