The Muhlenberg women's soccer team scored two second-half goals to come from behind and win at Bryn Mawr, 2-1.
It was the first time since 2007 that the Mules (2-10-1, 1-6) overcame a halftime deficit to win, and the first time ever that they did it to win a Centennial Conference game in regulation.
The Owls (1-9-2, 0-6) took the early lead by scoring a goal on a long shot late in the first half.
Muhlenberg found the equalizer in the 54th minute when sophomore
Emily Cevallos headed in a corner kick from junior
Bri Astbury for her first career goal.
The game remained tied for the next 34 minutes and appeared to be headed for a draw until the Mules netted the winner off a free kick. The initial kick was cleared out of the box and came back to sophomore
Jocelyn Mertz in the center of the field. Her shot from 35 yards out went over the head of the Bryn Mawr goalie with just 2:39 remaining.
The goal was the first for Mertz
(pictured above) and was the latest game-winning goal in regulation for the Mules since 2013, when they scored with 15 seconds left for a 1-0 win at Dickinson.
Sophomore
Sara Pecorelli made 4 saves in goal.
