The Muhlenberg field hockey team suffered a tough 1-0 double-overtime loss at home to Washington College.

The Mules (5-10, 3-6) had a tremendous defensive effort against the Shorewomen (8-7, 5-3), who came in tied for second in the Centennial Conference in goals scored. Muhlenberg successfully defended 18 penalty corners before finally allowing a goal on the 19th with 6:36 left in the second overtime.

Grace Leard made 9 saves for the Mules, who have lost three 1-0 games to CC playoff contenders in their current four-game skid.

The last six Muhlenberg-Washington games have been decided by one goal, and four of the last eight have gone into overtime, including the last three.
