Five different players scored goals to give the Muhlenberg men's soccer team its second straight road win to start the season, 5-0 at Centenary.
It was the biggest margin of victory for the Mules in a road shutout since a 5-0 blanking of Moravian in 2009.
Muhlenberg had a 24-3 advantage in shots, and junior
Brendan Duffy had to make only one save. But it was a big one. He preserved the shutout by stopping a penalty kick in the 62nd minute.
Junior
Francois D'Elia (pictured above) opened the scoring with his first career goal at the 13:19 mark. Junior
Chris Richards assisted on the goal and scored one of his own, assisted by senior
Noam Davidov, 16 minutes later.
A pair of sophomores,
Andrew Gaines and
Luke Feeney, later scored their first career goals, both assisted by freshmen,
Noah Pietila and
Jason Edelstein.
Senior
Phillip Bell also scored a goal, the second of his career.
