The Muhlenberg field hockey team gave up an early goal and could not recover in dropping its opener at DeSales, 3-0.

The Bulldogs scored on the first shot of the game, just 77 seconds after the opening whistle, forcing the Mules to play from behind. 

Muhlenberg won eight penalty corners in the third quarter but could not convert any of them into goals. DeSales scored twice in the quarter to pull away.

Junior Mel Cartagena (pictured above) made 9 saves in her first career start.
