The Muhlenberg women's soccer team shut out Washington College, 1-0, for its first win of the season.
The lone tally came in the 59th minute after freshman
Emily Cevallos was tripped up in the box on a run down the left side of the field. Sophomore
Paige Addis converted the penalty kick
(pictured above) for her first career goal.
That goal gave the Mules (1-5-1, 1-2) their first lead of the season, and they had to protect it for 31 minutes. And they did. Although the Shorewomen (4-3-2, 0-1-2) took five more shots, none were on goal.
Freshman
Sara Pecorelli stopped four shots in recording her second career shutout, and her first shutout win.
The win was the first for first-season head coach
Dave Weitzman.
