The Muhlenberg men's soccer team, who recently earned a spot in the Division III national rankings, dropped its first game of the season, falling to Misericordia, 2-1 in overtime.
Despite falling behind midway through the first half, the Mules (4-1-1) controlled the pace of play throughout the entire second half. With the Mules applying constant pressure, while holding a 17-0 advantage on shots during the second half, junior
Chris Richards (pictured above) scored to tie the game at one apiece.

Brandin Osborne began the scoring attack for the Mules, dribbling through multiple defenders on the far side of the field before laying the ball off to Richards in the 18-yard box. Richards then blasted a shot point-blank range to tally his team-leading third goal of the season.
The two teams would reach a stalemate at the end of regulation and headed to an extra period where the Cougars (4-0) scored 49 seconds into overtime to earn the victory.
Before this contest, the Mules held a 16-game unbeaten streak in non-conference games; outscoring their opponents, 50-8.
