Michael Hnatkowsky reached a major milestone and the defense forced five turnovers to highlight a 34-13 win by the Muhlenberg football team in its Centennial Conference opener at Dickinson.
Behind three touchdown passes by Hnatkowsky, the Mules (2-0, 1-0) opened up a 24-0 lead at the half. The scoring strikes gave Hnatkowsky 102 for his career, making him the 33rd player in Division III history to reach the century mark. The southpaw leads all active NCAA quarterbacks in all four divisions in career TD passes.
Hnatkowsky finished with a career-high 29 completions in 46 attempts for 283 yards.
The first two touchdown passes went to senior
Michael Feaster, who had a big day of his own. Feaster caught 12Â passes for 103Â yards to become the 12th player in Muhlenberg football history with double figures in receptions in a game.
The Mules picked off four passes, two by senior
Nick Sirico, and added a fumble recovery by senior

Spencer Kirin forced the fumble and also blocked a field goal attempt
The final interception was by senior
John Washington, who returned it 45 yards for his second career touchdown early in the fourth quarter to cap the Mules' scoring.
Sirico's interception on the third play of the game marked the 23rd time in the last 10 years that an opponent's first drive ended in a turnover. Three plays later, Hnatkowsky connected with Feaster from 16 yards out for a 7-0 lead.
The defense forced another three-and-out on the Red Devils' second possession, and with another short field Muhlenberg need only six plays to reach the end zone again.
Sophomore
Nick Stannard booted a 24-yard field goal early in the second quarter to make it 17-0. Dickinson completed a long pass to get inside the Red Zone on its next drive, but junior

The Mules responded with their longest scoring drive of the day, 12 plays and 80 yards, culminating in Hnatkowsky's 3-yard scoring strike to junior
Thomas Jenkins for a 24-0 lead.
Stannard remained perfect on the season by kicking a 31-yard field goal in the third quarter.
After Dickinson scored its second touchdown on a long pass, Muhlenberg killed the final 8:54 off the clock with a 16-play drive that included an 8-yard run by junior
Ethan Brader on fourth-and-7.
Senior
Rory DeLuca led the Muhlenberg ground game with a career-high 62 yards on 18 carries.
The defense held Dickinson to 24 rushing yards on 17 carries and only 17 completions in 42 passing attempts.
