The Muhlenberg baseball team took to the road a day after playing a home doubleheader and fell at Haverford, 14-6.
The Mules (5-7) needed only three batters to take a 2-0 lead. Junior
Danny Monzo knocked in both with the first of his two doubles in the game. Haverford, playing its only game of the year, came back and pulled ahead by scoring in each of the first seven innings.
Freshman
Ryan Friesen brought in the final run for Muhlenberg with his first career hit, a home run, in the eighth. Senior
Sam Zenna tripled and scored in the seventh.
Freshmen
Nick Whelan and
Nick Stannard also recorded their first career hits.
Muhlenberg used eight pitchers, including senior
Jack Dollinger (pictured above), who made his first career start, and senior
Jordan Leopold, who made his first career appearance. Freshman
Andrew DeLucia fanned the only batter he faced in his third pitching appearance of the weekend.
