The Muhlenberg baseball team scored in its first at-bat but not much afterwards and was swept by Johns Hopkins.
An RBI double by sophomore
Christian Schwarz drove in junior
Ryan Hebert, who had walked and stolen second, to give the Mules (5-6, 4-6) a quick 1-0 lead in the opening game. The first-place Blue Jays (11-3, 11-3) turned the tide with a fifth-inning grand slam and went on to win, 7-2.
The only other run for the Mules came on the first career home run for sophomore
Caleb Tereska in the bottom of the seventh.
Muhlenberg's first 14 hitters were retired in the nightcap, and by that time Hopkins had a 7-0 lead. It was 10-0 before the Mules scored twice in the bottom of the ninth. Freshman
Ryan Riccio led off the inning with his first career hit and came around on the first career hit for junior
Ryan Gilbert (pictured above), a single to right. The second run came in on a double play.
