The Muhlenberg volleyball team had its three-match winning streak snapped in three sets at Gettysburg.
The Mules (9-8, 2-3) battled tough in all three sets. In the first, they cut a 17-12 deficit to 22-20 before the Bullets (9-7, 2-3) scored the final three points to nail down the set.
Muhlenberg was two points away from tying the match in the second set, opening up a 23-17 lead. Gettysburg scored the next five points, however, and staved off set points at 24-22, 24-23 and 25-24. The Mules saved set points at 26-25 and 27-26, but the Bullets eventually won, 29-27.
Still reeling from the second set, Muhlenberg fell behind 10-4 early in the third. But again the Mules came back, closing to within a point at 21-20. Gettysburg was able to hold on, though, closing out the match at 25-22.
