Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Wins on Senior Night

The Muhlenberg men's soccer team wrapped up its season with a 2-1 home win against Gettysburg.

After honoring their nine seniors before the game, the Mules (7-7-2, 2-6-1) got goals from two freshmen to knock off the regionally ranked, playoff-bound Bullets (11-4-2, 5-3-1) for the first time since 2012.

All three of the game's goals came in a span of 6:20 wrapped around halftime. Freshman Noah Pietila opened the scoring just 3:28 before the break when he took a long diagonal pass from junior Brandin Osborne and beat the Gettysburg goalie 1v1 for his first career goal.

Muhlenberg made it 2-0 just 58 seconds into the second half off a long throw from junior Tarin Morris into the box. The ball went off the head of a Bullet defender to freshman Kevin Adams, who redirected it into the net for his first career goal.

The Bullets answered less than two minutes later, but the Mule defense made the one-goal lead stand up for the rest of the game against the top scoring team in the Centennial Conference, despite playing the last 27 minutes down a man.

Sophomore Zack Mikuta cleared a would-be goal off the line with about 11 minutes left, and Gettysburg did not get off a shot for the rest of the game.

Muhlenberg started its seven healthy seniors, including three - Noam Davidov, Donovan Dunning and Alexander Parillo - who made their first career starts.
