Di Cori Hat Trick Lifts Women's Soccer

Junior Noemi Di Cori scored all three goals as the Muhlenberg women's soccer team won its second straight game, 3-2 at regionally ranked Stockton.

The hat trick was the first by a Mule since 2011. It had been since 2003 that a Muhlenberg player recorded a hat trick in a game in which the Mules scored exactly three goals.

The Mules fell behind 1-0 late in the first half but responded quickly after the Ospreys (10-4-3), who are ranked seventh in Region IV, were called for a hand ball near midfield. A long kick by junior Alexandra Chirinkin bounced twice into the box to Di Cori, who left-footed a shot inside the far post.

Muhlenberg took its first lead with just 1:15 left in the half after sophomore Paige Addis drew a foul just outside the box. Di Cori (pictured above) ran onto Chirinkin's service at the 6 and headed it in.

Stockton tied the score 16 minutes into the second half, and the game remained tied until Addis was taken down in the box with under 20 minutes to play. Di Cori buried the penalty kick to put the Mules (3-10-1) ahead for the second time.

This time the lead stuck. Stockton had a good chance to tie in the last minute, but the shot went wide and Muhlenberg held on for its first come-from-behind win of the season.
