Eglinton Reaches Milestone in V-ball Sweep

Junior Emma Eglinton recorded her 1000th career assist early on in the Muhlenberg volleyball team's home sweep of Bryn Mawr.

Eglinton came into the match with 996 and got to the magic milestone when she set up senior Megan Ray for a kill that game the Mules (10-11, 3-5) a 5-4 lead. The 11th player in program history to hit quadruple digits in assists, Eglinton finished the match with 17 assists.

Muhlenberg went on to win that first set, 25-9, and took the next two, 25-20 and 25-19, to reach double digits in victories for the 29th time in the last 30 seasons.

Eglinton's best target in the first set was sophomore Christina Dalton, who landed kills on all six of her hits. Dalton's kills accounted for the Mules' final four points of the set as they held a Centennial Conference opponent to single digits for the first time since a 2016 match vs. Ursinus.

The second set was closer, with the Owls (5-12, 0-7) leading as late as 18-17. With Eglinton serving, Muhlenberg scored the next five points to take control.

The serving of Eglinton set the tone for the third set, with the Mules jumping out to an 8-0 lead and staying comfortably ahead for the entire set.

Freshman Esmae Oehler led Muhlenberg with 11 kills, and Dalton finished with 10. Freshman setter Kelsey Miller advanced her climb toward the 1000-assist mark with 16, her career high for a three-set match.

The Mules used a different libero in each set, with sophomores Alyssa Faville (first set, 13) and Julia Ficon (second set, 9) and junior Caleya Tereska (third set, 11) combining for 33 digs as Bryn Mawr was held to negative hitting. Faville also served a trio of aces.
