The Muhlenberg field hockey team stayed close to Johns Hopkins for most of the game before falling, 4-0.
The Blue Jays (14-0, 7-0), who are ranked second in Division III, came in as the 10th-highest scoring team in the country, averaging 4.15 goals per game. They scored off a penalty corner just 3:36 into the game, but the Mules (4-8, 2-5) prevented any further scoring the rest of the half despite being under great pressure.

Mel Cartagena tied her career high, set a week ago in an overtime win at Gettysburg, with 15 saves. Hopkins eventually pulled away, however, scoring midway through the third quarter and then twice in the fourth quarter.
