The Muhlenberg men's soccer team scored two early goals and wound up playing Dickinson to a 2-2 draw.
Junior
Taylan Akdag scored both Mule goals, giving him three in the last two games.
The first goal was a combination of hard work and good luck. Just 72 seconds into the game, the Red Devils (1-8-2, 0-5-1) attempted a pass back to the goalie. Akdag hustled to put pressure on the goalie, and it paid off when the attempted clearance deflected off Akdag's foot and into the back of the net.
It was the earliest goal for the Mules since they netted one just 37 seconds in against Drew in 2018.
In the 12th minute, Akdag headed in a cross from senior
Phillip Bell to complete his second career multiple-goal game.
Dickinson scored twice in a span of 1:04 early in the second half to tie the game.
The Mules (6-5-2, 1-4-1) had a 6-2 advantage in shots in the two overtime periods but could not score. Sophomore
Zach Matik preserved the tie in the closing seconds with a reflex save off a bicycle kick in the box, one of his career-high seven saves.
