The Muhlenberg wrestling team posted a pair of big wins against highly respected programs, defeating Worcester Polytechnic Institute, 34-9, and host Oneonta, 28-12.

Seniors Austin Sherman, Dylan Schwartz, Brian Jamison, Jimmy Fratantoni and Scott Schaeffer were all double winners along with sophomore Angelo Mahaffey and Luca Colestock as the Mules went 14-0 from 149 on up.

The most impressive win of the day came from Schwartz (pictured above), who scored an 8-6 decision against a WPI wrestler who has qualified for the NCAA Championships the last two years. Schwartz also posted a two-point decision against Oneonta for his 70th career win.

Sherman, competing for the first time this season, also had a significant win, an 8-5 decision against an Oneonta wrestler who received honorable mention in this week's d3wrestle.com rankings. Sherman also recorded a technical fall against WPI.

Schaeffer punctuated Muhlenberg's big day with a pin in 41 seconds against Oneonta - one second faster than he pinned his WPI opponent. All four of Schaeffer's wins this season are by fall.

A pair of matching 12-4 major decisions by Jamison and a major and tech by Colestock, who improved to 6-0 on the season, also contributed to the wins. 

Sophomore Matt Ferrante got the day off to a good start with a 10-4 decision in the WPI match.
