After playing dramatic five-set matches throughout the month of September, the Muhlenberg volleyball team began October with a very
un-dramatic match.
The Mules (13-5, 3-1) breezed past Bryn Mawr, 25-16, 25-10, 25-13, in their final tuneup before facing 16th-ranked Johns Hopkins on Saturday.
With junior
Gabrielle Neuman running the offense in her first start of the season, Muhlenberg made only six attack errors in the entire match. The defense, meanwhile, held the Owls (6-9, 0-4) to a negative hitting percentage.
The first set was tied 10-10 before the Mules went on a 7-1 run to open it up. Muhlenberg started the second and third sets 8-1 and 6-1, respectively, and led comfortably the rest of the way.
Junior
Tara Register led the offense with 11 kills in only 18 attempts, while junior
Madison Forrest (pictured above) added 7 kills and 3 aces.
Neuman finished with a career-high 32 assists.
