With three members of its regular rotation sidelined by injuries, the Muhlenberg volleyball team was swept at home by 16th-ranked Johns Hopkins.
After dropping the first two sets, the Mules (13-6, 3-2) jumped out to a big lead early in the third. Senior
Kelly Tornetta served three straight points to make it 10-4 and recorded kills at both 14-13 and 15-14 to keep the Blue Jays (14-1, 5-1) at bay. But Hopkins scored the next four points to go up 18-16. It was tied 19-19 before the Blue Jays ran off the final six points to close out the match.
Tornetta
(pictured above) finished with a team-high 14 digs to go along with 6 kills. Junior
Tara Register led Muhlenberg with 7 kills and served 3 consecutive aces in the first set.
