Two days before honoring its three seniors on Senior Day, the Muhlenberg volleyball team honored two of them by improving its record to 17-6 with a 3-0 sweep at Moravian.
Senior
Kelly Tornetta (who wears 17) recorded 10 kills and senior
Shannon Hubert (who wears 6) added 24 assists in the 25-23, 25-8, 25-18 win. The third senior,
Erica Schultz (No. 5), contributed three kills in only four attempts.
Junior
Maggie Enestvedt led the attack with 11 kills in only 17 attempts, running her career kills total to an even 900. The Mules hit .382 for the match, making just six errors.
Enestvedt had five kills in the first set, which saw the Greyhounds (13-15) come back from a 7-2 deficit for an 8-8 tie and come back again from an 18-11 deficit to draw to within 21-19. It was 24-23 before junior
Madison Forrest finally ended the set with one of her five kills.
There was no coming back in the second set; Muhlenberg scored seven of the first eight points and led 15-3 at one point. Again Forrest ended the set with a kill. It was the first time this season the Mules held an opponent to single digits in a set, and the first time they did it against Moravian since 2009.
The third set was tied 15-15 before sophomore
Maya Illovsky served six straight points to help Muhlenberg pull away and defeat Moravian for the seventh straight time.
In addition to Schultz, junior
Tara Register (4 kills in 6 attempts), sophomore
Alycia Long (

Megan Ray (3 in 6 attempts) scored kills at a high percentage without making an error.
