The Muhlenberg men's soccer team came back to tie once but not a second time and fell at home to Swarthmore, 2-1.

For the fifth straight game, the Mules (2-4-1, 0-2) went into halftime in a scoreless tie. They have not allowed a first-half goal since the first game of the season, a span of 288 minutes.

Swarthmore (3-5-1, 1-0-1) broke the deadlock at the 58:27 mark, but Muhlenberg answered less than seven minutes later. Sophomore Pete Luther sent a through-ball ahead to classmate Matthew Athanas-Linden for a clear shot. The Garnet keeper made a sliding save of the shot, but Athanas-Linden (pictured above) collected the rebound and placed his second shot in the back of the net for his second goal of the season.

Swarthmore moved back ahead with 18:22 on the clock and held off the Mules the rest of the way.
