Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's Lacrosse Wins Fifth Straight

It was another day, another win for the Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team.

The Mules overcame an early deficit to defeat Lebanon Valley, 12-9, for their third win in four days. Less than 72 hours after beating Buffalo State at home, and 24 hours after shutting out Bryn Mawr at home, the team took to the road and returned with its fifth consecutive win.

Senior Nora Fisher and sophomore Amanda Tullo recorded hat tricks with three goals apiece, and senior Stephanie D'Ascoli tied a career high with four assists.

Muhlenberg (5-1) trailed 2-0 midway through the first half before scoring six of the next seven goals to take the lead for good.

The second of senior Kelsey Nagle's back-to-back goals put the Mules up for the first time at 3-2. After the Dutchmen (0-7) tied the game, Muhlenberg reeled off the next three goals, with Fisher and freshman Emma Charron scoring 21 seconds apart to make it 6-3.

The Mules led by as many as four goals in the second half and clinched the game when D'Ascoli fed junior Jordy Bonvini for a goal with 8.2 seconds left.

Senior Sara Allison (pictured above) tied her season high with seven saves, including three in the early part of the game when Lebanon Valley was controlling possession. Seniors Alli April and Allison Murnick caused a pair of turnovers each.

Charron scored twice for her first career multiple-goal game and also helped turn the tide by taking draws. The Dutchmen won five of the first six draws of the game, but Muhlenberg won 12 of the last 17 with Charron in the circle for most of them.

Bonvini finished with eight draw controls to move into third place on the program's all-time list with 155 for her career. Both she and D'Ascoli will enter Wednesday's home game against Drew with 97 career points.
