Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Nagle Reaches Milestone in Women's Lax Win

In its unscheduled 18-day gap between games, the Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team did not forget how to score goals and win - and senior Kelsey Nagle did not forget how to set up her teammates with great passes.

Nagle tied career high with eight points and six assists, including the 100th of her career, as the Mules (3-1) returned to action with a 16-10 win against Buffalo State.

Junior Jordy Bonvini tied her career high with six goals and controlled seven draws, while senior Nora Fisher also notched a hat trick with three goals.

The Mules, who played Emmanuel on their second day of Spring Break and returned home last week to have two games postponed due to weather, shook off some early rust to put on a dominant showing in their first meeting against the Bengals (2-3). Muhlenberg had advantages of 46-21 in shots and 26-12 in ground balls; only some outstanding work by two Buffalo State goalies kept the game close.

Senior Alli April led the defense with a career-high five ground balls and two caused turnovers, and freshman Gabriella Crivelli came off the bench to contribute four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Sophomore Morgan Weiss added three ground balls and two caused TOs.

Buffalo State scored the first two goals of the game before Muhlenberg, beginning a stretch of three games in four days, ran off five in a row to take the lead for good. Nagle was involved in the last four goals of the run, scoring two and assisting on two.

Although the Bengals never got within two goals the rest of the game, they kept the Mules from getting too comfortable a lead until the second half. Bonvini scored two goals in a 90-second 3-0 run that made it 11-6, and another 3-0 run later in the half put the game out of reach at 15-8.

The last of the three goals came on a pass to the middle from Nagle to freshman Courtney Allen and put the co-captain at the century mark. Nagle is only the second player in team history to record 100 career assists.

Allen and sophomore Amanda Tullo scored two goals apiece, and freshman Emma Charron (pictured above) added a goal and four draw controls.
