Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men's Lacrosse Cruises to Second Straight Win

The Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team dominated from start to finish in winning by a score of 20-4 over Elmira.

Despite having 11 days between games due to weather issues, the Mules (2-3) did not look rusty in capturing their second straight win, scoring the first four goals of the game and holding the Soaring Eagles (0-3) to four shots in the first half. Muhlenberg finished the first half up 13-2, one goal away from tying the program record for scores in a half. The 16-point margin of victory was the largest for the Mules since 2004 and it was their first 20-goal game since 2005.

Muhlenberg led a balanced attack offensively, with four different players scoring hat tricks and nine tallying at least one score. Freshman Jack Colt led the offensive charge with six points, netting his first career hat trick to go with three assists.

Senior Brad D'Alessandro led the Mules with four goals. He now has 70 career goals and 91 career points, which are sixth and ninth, respectively, in program history. The hat trick was the 12th of his career, tying him for the fourth most in school history.

Freshmen Bobby McLoughlin and Declan Moylan also recorded their first career hat tricks, adding a pair of assists apiece.

Freshman Frankie Feaster continued his dominance on faceoff opportunities, finishing with 17 wins out of 20 tries. He also extended his streak of at least 10 ground balls to four straight games, collecting 17 of those as well. His ground ball total is the second most by a Mule in a game, and his faceoff wins are tied for the fourth most in a single game. Feaster contributed to the offense with two goals and an assist as well.

Junior Niko Del Moro scored both his goals in the fourth period, while sophomore Daniel Doreste also had two points with a goal and an assist. Freshman Scott Fayan scored his first career goal early in the first period and then added his first career assist late in the third period.

As a team, Muhlenberg forced Elmira into 26 turnovers. The Mules collected 49 ground balls to Elmira's 24, and the Mules also won 20 of 27 face offs, including eight in a row during the first half.

Junior goalkeeper Lance Gibson moved his record to 2-0 as a starter, making two saves in the first half. Sophomore Chris Markey played the third period and made one save, while freshman Garrett Pope recorded two saves in the fourth period.
