Vallely Named Academic All-District

Junior Brandi Vallely of the Muhlenberg women's basketball team was named to the NCAA Division III Academic All-District 4 team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

District 4 consists of all NCAA colleges and universities in Pennsylvania. To be nominated for the team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average and a starter or significant reserve her team.

Vallely, who will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration, is a double major in media & communication and business administration, with a concentration in marketing. She has made the Dean's List in four of her five semesters at Muhlenberg. Outside of the classroom, she serves as signature events chair for the 2018 Class Council, and this semester she is a marketing communications intern at Habitat for Humanity ReStore Allentown. Vallely has also volunteered at Jefferson Field Day the past two years.

On the court, Vallely is one of the top point guards in Division III. Heading into tonight's game vs. Gettysburg, she ranks fifth in the country in both assists per game (7.1) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.88). She also leads the Mules in scoring at 13.4 points per game and tops the Centennial Conference in both assists (141) and steals (67).

Vallely earned All-America honorable mention as a sophomore after leading Division III in assists, setting a national record with five triple-doubles and helping Muhlenberg win the CC championship. Despite missing most of her freshman year with injury and having one more complete season left, she ranks third in team history and seventh in CC history with 421 career assists.

Vallely's career record as starting point guard is 38-9.
