The Muhlenberg women's soccer team threw a scare into 20th-ranked Swarthmore, nearly coming back from a three-goal deficit in the second half before falling, 3-2.

The Garnet (13-3, 7-2) appeared to be in total control after it scored two goals in the first 13 minutes of the game and added a third score 16:11 into the second half.
 
The Mules fought back, however. Just 1:14 after Swarthmore's third goal, senior Carly DeNigris took a pass from sophomore Danni Steigerwald and found the back of the net with a low shot.

With 1:23 left on the clock, DeNigris was on the giving end, feeding freshman Isabel Schwartz for a shot from the top of the box that found the corner of the goal.

Muhlenberg (4-8-4, 2-4-3) could not get another shot in the remaining time and had to settle for its seventh one-goal setback of the season - including four on the road to ranked teams.

With her goal and assist, DeNigris (pictured above) became the 14th player in program history to reach double figures in both goals and assists. She has 33 career points on 10 goals and 13 assists.
