In its final tuneup for Centennial Conference play, the Muhlenberg volleyball team posted a 3-0 shutout of Moravian.

The 25-18, 25-22, 25-23 sweep gave Muhlenberg an early 1-0 lead in the 2016-17 Matte Award standings. The next scheduled contests in the annual all-sports competition between the rival Lehigh Valley schools are in women's tennis and men's golf on October 4.

Coming off her all-tournament performance at the Buttermaker Tournament, sophomore Kelly Tornetta continued her strong play, putting down a match-high 16 kills with only two errors. Freshman Maggie Enestvedt added 10 kills and 10 digs for her first career double-double.

Senior Elizabeth Garrison led the defense with 23 digs, moving into 10th place on the program's all-time list with 1,062 for her career. Sophomore Shannon Hubert recorded 28 assists.

The Mules (6-3) open their CC slate with a home match against defending champion McDaniel on Saturday.
