Box Score
The Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team came back from an early four-goal deficit to take a lead in the second quarter, but Washington scored the final 10 goals to walk away from a Friday night game at Scotty Wood Stadium with a 15-6 win.
The Shoremen needed just six minutes and five seconds to take a 4-0 lead. The Mules had hardly any possession up to that point, but sophomore
Dylan Moyer won the ensuing faceoff, leading to a goal by senior
Steven Casella with 7:42 left in the quarter.
That kickstarted the Muhlenberg offense. Sophomore
Niko Del Moro scored a little more than a minute later, then fed junior
Brad D'Alessandro for a man-up goal to make it 4-3.
After Washington interruped the run, D'Alessandro scored three straight goals, the last with 10:26 left in the second quarter, to give the Mules their first lead at 6-5. The score remained that way until the Shoremen netted a pair of goals in the final four minutes of the half to reclaim the lead.
Washington extended its lead throughout the second half, resulting in a final score that was not entirely indicative of how the game was played.
The four goals gave D'Alessandro an even 50 for his career.Â
Senior
Kyle Larkin made 15 saves for the third time in the last five games. Moyer
(pictured above) picked up five ground balls and caused two turnovers.
