Box Score
The Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team used some more second-half magic to come from behind and defeat McDaniel, 14-9, for its second straight Centennial Conference win.
The Mules (9-3, 2-3) were tied 4-4 at halftime and 8-8 with 13:42 remaining before ending the game on a 6-1 run. It was the fourth time this year that the team won after being tied or trailing at the half, and it came at a place that is traditionally not friendly to the Mules: They had lost their three games in Westminster and had only won there twice ever - both times by one goal.
Sophomore
Jordy Bonvini scored a career-high five goals, and freshman
Amanda Tullo recorded her first career hat trick with three goals.
Junior
Sara Allison played a tremendous game in goal, making a career-high 14 saves, including three on free-position shots.
Muhlenberg trailed 4-1 before scoring the final three goals of the first half. The Green Terror (5-8, 2-4) went back ahead by scoring the first two goals of the second half, but goals by junior
Kelsey Nagle and Tullo 10 seconds apart knotted the score again.Â
Tullo
(pictured above)Â connected again just 28 seconds later to give the Mules their first lead, 7-6, with 18:52 left to play. Bonvini's third goal made it 8-6 before McDaniel scored two straight in a span of 37 seconds.
A free-position goal by Bonvini at the 13:13 mark put Muhlenberg ahead to stay, and about two minutes later Nagle made a beautiful pass to junior
Nora Fisher for a shot into an open net for a 10-8 lead. Bonvini controlled the ensuing draw and went straight to goal to make it 11-8, and it took only 33 more seconds for the Mules to score again, with Nagle feeding junior
Stephanie D'Ascoli.
Goals in the last two minutes by senior
Casey Armstrong and Tullo put the finishing touches on the win.
In addition to her five goals, Bonvini recorded eight draw controls. Freshman
Caroline Dolan picked up four ground balls and caused three turnovers.
