The Muhlenberg softball team split its fourth consecutive Centennial Conference doubleheader of the season against Haverford, winning the opener, 3-0, before falling in the nightcap, 7-2.
Sophomore
Hayley Peterson stole the show in the first game by striking out five Haverford batters, including two of the first three in the seventh. She allowed seven hits and did not give up a walk in her first career shutout.
The Mules (10-16, 4-4) got the scoring started in the second when sophomore
Amelia Shelley ripped an RBI single to right field to drive in sophomore
Hanna Caiola, who had doubled.
In the fifth, senior
Amie DeFeo drove an RBI single to right field and two batters later, sophomore
Karissa Astrella reached on an RBI infield single.
In Game 2, Muhlenberg scored both of its runs on one play. With senior
