The Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team played its first Friday night home game on a warm, pleasant evening in front of a supportive crowd and against a very good opponent.

Gettysburg, ranked sixth in Division III, scored seven straight goals from midway through the first half to late in the second and went on to defeat the Mules, 14-4.

On goals by senior Casey Armstrong, freshman Amanda Tullo and junior Stephanie D'Ascoli, Muhlenberg (7-2, 0-2) trailed 6-3 with 13:04 left in the first half. The Mules did not score again until sophomore Jordy Bonvini put in a free-position shot with 5:59 left.

Junior Sara Allison (pictured above, right) tied a career high with 10 saves. Junior Allison Murnick (pictured above, left) and freshman Caroline Dolan picked up three ground balls apiece.
