The Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team did not allow a goal for the final 25 minutes of the game but could not overcome a halftime deficit and fell at home to Haverford, 10-8, in a rematch of a 2015 Centennial Conference playoff game.
The Fords (6-4, 2-1) had a pair of three-goal runs in the first half, opening up a 9-6 lead at the break. They made it 10-6 on a goal 4:56 into the second half.
The Mule defense pitched a shutout the rest of the way, forcing 10 Haverford turnovers and getting five saves from junior
Sara Allison.
Muhlenberg (7-3, 0-3) closed to within 10-7 on a goal by senior
Arielle Sherman with 23:27 left in the second half, and neither team scored for the next 18-plus minutes. Sophomore
Jordy Bonvini scored on a free-position shot with 4:45 on the clock, but the Mules could not get closer than two goals.
Junior
Nora Fisher (pictured above) scored two goals and controlled four draws. Junior
Stephanie D'Ascoli also netted a pair of goals, and Bonvini finished with a goal and two assists.
