Box ScoreThe Muhlenberg baseball team rallied late but came up one hit short, falling 4-2 in the opener of a three-game series at Hampden-Sydney.
The Mules (7-4) trailed 4-0 before getting a run back in the top of the sixth on a two-out RBI single by senior
Andrew Rava. They loaded the bases with nobody out in the eighth and closed to within two runs on a double play.
Muhlenberg loaded the bases again in the ninth, but the game ended on a flyout with the tying run in scoring position.
Sophomore
Eric Reitmeyer went 3-for-4, and Rava and freshman
Chris Grillo collected two hits apiece.
Mule pitchers
Timmy Pilrun and
Christopher Bunero combined to strike out 12 batters in eight innings, with Bunero fanning five of the seven batters he faced.
