The Garnet (18-6, 12-5), who are in second place in the Centennial Conference, opened up hot from the field and led 42-19 with six minutes to go in the first half. The Mules (10-13, 7-10) cut the deficit to 16 by halftime and trailed 50-32 after Swarthmore scored the first basket of the second half.

Muhlenberg then went on an 11-0 run to draw to within seven on two free throws by McLeod at the 16:11 mark.

Swarthmore extended its margin to 13, but again the Mules came back, scoring seven straight points - four on back-to-back layups by McLeod 12 seconds apart - to make the score 58-52 with just under 13 minutes on the clock.

The Garnet stemmed the tide with one of its 14 three-pointers in the game and kept its lead in double digits for most of the remaining time.
Junior
Brandon LaRose scored nine points for the Mules, and freshman
Brendan Hughes added a career-high six on a pair of three-pointers.
