The Muhlenberg volleyball team earned a big win toward its pursuit of a Centennial Conference playoff berth with a 3-0 sweep at Gettysburg before defeating Hood in straight sets as well.

The Mules (17-9, 6-3 CC) first beat the Bullets (15-7, 5-3 CC) 25-18, 25-21, 25-11 and later took down the Blazers (9-17) by a score of 25-23, 25-19, 25-22. The win against Gettysburg moves Muhlenberg into sole possession of third place in the CC standings, with the Mules having one more win than three teams tied for fourth place.

Sophomore
Kelly Tornetta led the Mules with 19 total kills in both matches, including a team-high 13 against Gettysburg. She also finished with 18 total digs, recording 10 in the second match vs. Hood.

Senior
Elizabeth Garrison ended the day with 31 total digs, upping her career total to 1,383 which is two shy of tying her for the third most in program history with former Mule Jen Weist. She now has 478 digs this season, the fifth highest total in a season for a Muhlenberg player.

Sophomore
Shannon Hubert finished with a match-high 28 assists to go with seven kills in the first match, while freshman
Gabrielle Neuman led Muhlenberg with 24 assists against Hood.

In the match against the Bullets, Muhlenberg fell behind 17-7 in the first set and then went on a tear to close the set on a 18-1 run, taking the final 13 points of the set.

Maggie Enestvedt, one of eight for her in the match, put the Mules up 3-0 in the second set. Gettysburg rallied to go up 10-4 before Muhlenberg came back to tie the set at 16. The Mules eventually took the lead on a kill from senior
Allison Glass before closing out the stanza on a 4-1 run.

The Bullets again had a lead in the third set at 9-6. Starting with a kill from Hubert, Muhlenberg ripped off another impressive run by taking 18 of the next 20 points, including 11 straight at one point, to finish out the match.

In the second match, Hood traded points with Muhlenberg in the first stanza before a kill from sophomore
Erica Schultz and Tornetta helped put the Mules up 12-8. Muhlenberg then came back after a Hood rally and won the final four points to take the first set on a Schultz kill.

Muhlenberg jumped out to an early lead in the second set and maintained that lead throughout the stanza on its way to a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Blazers took control in the third set and eventually held a 16-11 lead. The Mules earned eight of the next 10 points and an Enestvedt kill gave Muhlenberg a lead again. With the stanza tied at 22-22, two straight kills from freshman
Madison Forrest and a Blazer attack error ended the match.

Glass led Muhlenberg with eight kills against Hood. Schultz and freshman
Stefanie Mutter each recorded five total blocks for the day to lead Muhlenberg in that category.
