The Muhlenberg women's soccer team came back twice to earn its first Centennial Conference point of the season with a 2-2 tie against Dickinson at muddy Varsity Field.
Freshman
Danni Steigerwald scored both goals for the Mules (3-5-1, 0-2-1). After the Red Devils (4-3-3, 0-2-1) scored off a free kick in the 13th minute, Steigerwald countered by heading in a corner kick form sophomore
Makenzie O'Brien (pictured above) in the 19th minute.
Dickinson went back on top late in the first half and went into halftime with a 2-1 lead.
Midway through the second half, Steigerwald lofted a high shot from near the corner of the box that found its way over the head of the goalie and into the back of the net at the far post.
Although there was no more scoring, Muhlenberg continued to apply pressure for the remainder of the game. O'Brien and her mates in the back - freshmen
Casarah Morales,
Madison Ingling and
Karolyn Kawa - held the Red Devils to one shot, and it was from long distance, over the final 50 minutes of the contest.
The Mules, who finished with a 21-7 advantage in shots, nearly sneaked out a win in the waning seconds, but a shot by senior
Abby Lazofsky went wide left.
