The Muhlenberg women's soccer team fell to Cortland State, 2-1, in its first game of the season at the Lady Colonels Classic at Wilkes.

After falling behind 1-0 late in the first half, the Mules tied the game when freshman Emily Jordan, playing in the first game of her career, headed in a goal off a corner kick with 21:32 remaining in the second half.

The Red Dragons, who reached their conference championship game last year, went back ahead less than eight minutes later and held on for the win.

Junior Tori Gonzalez played the second half in goal and made three saves.
