The Diplomats came back after dropping the first two sets and won the thrilling fifth set, 15-13.

Muhlenberg (9-4, 1-1) scored three straight points to break a 10-10 tie and pulled away late to take the first set, 25-19. In the second, the Diplomats led 5-3 before the Mules went on a 13-1 run behind the serving of Garrison and Hubert to open up a commanding 16-6 advantage. They cruised to a 25-13 win to take a 2-0 lead.
F&M won the next two sets, 25-16 and 25-14, to force a decisive fifth set. After Muhlenberg jumped out to a 6-2 lead, the Diplomats cut it to 7-5. The teams then traded 12 straight points to make it 13-11 before F&M scored the final four points of the match.
The match was the first of two this week for the Mules against recent CC final opponents. They return home Saturday to face Johns Hopkins in a rematch of the 2013 title match.
