The Muhlenberg volleyball team opened the season with a 3-1 loss to visiting Eastern.
The Mules took the first set from the 12th-ranked Eagles, 25-19, on the back of senior
Erin Murphy, who led the team with five kills in the opening frame. Muhlenberg jumped out to an 11-4 lead early in the set and never looked back.

Allison Glass came alive in the second set, registering three and two kills, respectively, to keep the Mules within striking distance. Muhlenberg battled late to tie the set at 21, but a 4-1 spurt from Eastern wrapped up the second set, 25-21. The final two games also went the Eagles' way, 25-16 and 25-19.
Freshman
Shannon Hubert handed out 27 assists in her first collegiate match, while senior
Chelsea Kaser had a match-high 24 digs for the Mules. Murphy and freshman
Kelly Tornetta led the Mules with 12 kills apiece.
