Matt Davis was named the head coach of men's and women's golf at Muhlenberg in October 2026, bringing more than three decades of experience in coaching and developing golfers, including nine years as an NCAA head and associate head coach.
"I've been fortunate to have a lot of experience coaching women's golf throughout my career, and I'm really excited about the opportunity to now lead a men's program alongside the women's program," said Davis. "Muhlenberg is a place where I believe we can build two successful programs, create an outstanding experience for our student-athletes, and ultimately compete at the national level."
Throughout his career, Davis has combined collegiate coaching with entrepreneurship, founding seven golf businesses whose reach includes player development, coach education, college recruiting, golf technology, and club operations.
A native of Australia, where he excelled in junior and amateur golf, Davis was hired as the first women's head coach at Delaware Valley University in 2014. In 2019, he moved to La Salle University as associate head women's coach. He coached all-conference players at both places.
Davis competed at the collegiate level at Division II USC Aiken and Lenoir-Rhyne University, winning the Southeast Regional once and qualifying for the NCAA Championships twice, before moving on to the professional ranks and competing in tournaments in both the United States and Australia.
Davis has served as a professional at several golf clubs in both countries, including teaching professional at Spring Mill Country Club (2010-13) and head pro at Indian Valley Country Club (2014-15) and Five Iron Golf Philadelphia (2023-24) in Pennsylvania and Power Golf Canberra (2025-26) in his native country.
