Originally from Frankfort, N.Y., Jamie Scalise joined the Muhlenberg sports medicine staff in 2014. As an assistant certified athletic trainer, he coordinates the pre-participation athletic requirements of the student-athletes. He views his profession not as a job, but as a passion for helping athletes and the active population succeed.

Scalise received his bachelor of science degree in athletic training and physical education from Canisius College of Buffalo, N.Y., in 1997 and was certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification in 1998. After completing his training under the supervision of Dr. Robert Palumbo, he received his certification from the National Board of Certification for Orthopaedic Technologists in 2011. He also completed the ImPACT Trained Athletic Trainer Program for concussion management in 2015.

Scalise was previously employed by OAA Orthopaedic Specialists from May 1998 until December 2013. During that time he served as a certified ortho tech and clinical certified athletic trainer for the Salisbury Township and Parkland school districts. Currently Jamie is employed by Lehigh Valley Health Network and is contracted at Muhlenberg.

When not working, Scalise enjoys spending time with his wife Krissy and son Joseph Carlo. He is a lifelong New York sports fan, especially the Yankees, Giants and Rangers.
