Gennaro Cerminara rejoined the Muhlenberg wrestling program as assistant coach for the 2021-22 season.
Cerminara enjoyed a stellar career on the mat for the Mules, compiling a record of 89-34, winning two Centennial Conference titles at 197 and tying a school record with 50 pins.
Cerminara won the 197-pound title at the 2018 CC Championships with a dramatic overtime pin against a Merchant Marine opponent, becoming the Mules' first conference champion since 2009. He repeated the following year to become Muhlenberg's first multiple-time CC titlist since 2007.
A Mule wrestler has recorded at least 15 pins in a season four times, and three of those were by Cerminara, including a school-record 18 in 2018. He is one of only two Muhlenberg wrestlers to post multiple 30-win seasons, going 30-13 as a sophomore and 32-11 as a junior.
Cerminara narrowly missed qualifying for nationals as a senior, placing fifth at the NCAA Mideast Regional. He placed in a total of 10 tournaments during his career, winning the consolation final at the Messiah Petrofes Invitational twice and at the CC Championships once.
