Stephen Register joined the Muhlenberg track and field coaching staff for the 2021 season.
Register served as an assistant coach and associate head coach at Cumberland University for four years, coaching the 2019 NAIA national champion in the indoor 800 meters. He had numerous athletes qualify for the NAIA national meet and coached a conference mutli-event champion.
Register also was a volunteer assistant coach at his alma mater, Division I Belmont University, for two seasons. He served as director of education at Turnbridge, an addiction treatment center in New Haven, Conn., before coming to Muhlenberg.
From 2003 to 2009, Register was a sergeant in the Tennessee Army National Guard, including an 18-month active duty deployment in service of Operation Enduring Freedom, primarily in Baghdad, Iraq. He graduated from Belmont, where he was a two-time conference champion and set the school record in the 400, in 2008 and earned his Master of Divinity from Yale University in 2011.Â
