Former Division I runner Christy Kendall joined the coaching staff of the Muhlenberg cross country and track & field teams for the 2016-17 year.
Kendall ran at Bucknell University from 2004 to 2008, serving as team captain her last two seasons and earning second-team All-Patriot League honors in cross country in 2007. She ran the mile, 3000, 5000 and steeplechase for the Bison and was part of Patriot League championship teams in cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field.
A native of Perkasie, Pa., Kendall returned to eastern Pennsylvania after a few years out west. From 2012 to 2015, she was a physical education instructor in the Denver (Colo.) Public Schools, and she spent the 2015-16 year as cross country coach for the Lakewood (Colo.) Recreation Center.
Kendall graduated from Bucknell with a degree in English and education in 2008. She founded a summer running camp for middle- and high school-aged athletes in Pennsylvania in 2010 and served as its program director for two summers.
