Jeff Schmitt

Jeff Schmitt, a 1969 graduate of Muhlenberg, was named head men’s tennis coach at his alma mater in the summer of 2005 and has a record of 45-86 in his 10 seasons. He led the Mules to their first winning season in five years with an 8-7 record in 2008.

A four-year letterwinner during his collegiate days with the Mules, Schmitt has served as a professional at Oakmont Tennis Club since 1994. He also was a professional at the academy run by former Muhlenberg head coach Bill Adams from 1999 to 2003. He was responsible for junior tennis programs at both places.

Schmitt holds a professional level certificate from the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR).

Schmitt has more than 20 years of coaching experience in tennis and soccer. After a year as head coach of the Pennridge High School boys tennis team in 1976, he coached soccer at Emmaus High School from 1977 to 1993 and at Allentown College from 1994 to 1999. A retired social studies teacher in the East Penn School District, he has directed the Camp Olympic Soccer Clinic since 1992.

Schmitt earned a master’s degree from Lehigh University in 1984.
