Jeff VanGorder joined the Muhlenberg coaching staff prior to the 2022-23 season, bringing with him more than a decade of Division III coaching experience.
From the 2019 through 2022 seasons, VanGorder was an assistant coach at Centennial Conference rival Ursinus, helping the Bears to two appearances in the CC semifinals. He coached six All-CC selections and three 1,000-point scorers.
Prior to his time at Ursinus, VanGorder spent three seasons at Carnegie Mellon University and four at Hamilton College. He helped Carnegie Mellon to a postseason appearance, its first in eight years, in 2017, and recruited players who would lead Hamilton to the NCAA Division III "Sweet 16" in 2018.
A 2010 graduate of the State University of New York at Cortland, VanGorder has been the city director of Pro Skills Basketball Philadelphia since 2020, overseeing fifth- to twelfth-grade club boys basketball teams.
