After four years of playing at Muhlenberg, Lenny Smith joined the coaching staff for the 2016 season.
Smith lettered three years for the Mules, starting at inside linebacker his final two seasons. In 2015, he was named to the All-Centennial Conference second team after recording a team-best 83 tackles for a unit that ranked in the top 15 in Division III in total defense and rushing defense.
Smith also served as a team captain as a senior and was voted "Player's Player" by his teammates, who recognized his leadership and loyalty. He finished his career with 147 total tackles, including 13½ for loss and 4½ sacks, to go along with four pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
A native of River Edge, N.J., Smith graduated with a degree in media and communication. He also wrestled one year for Muhlenberg, placing third at heavyweight at the 2015 CC Championships.Â
