The Muhlenberg field hockey team dropped a back-and-forth game at Montclair State, 4-3 in overtime.
The Mules (2-4) came back from an early 1-0 deficit to tie the score in the final minute of the first half off a penalty corner, with junior
Haley Foster (pictured above) converting a pass from junior
Kate Lysaght, who recorded her first career point.
Muhlenberg took its first lead in the final minute of the third quarter, with junior
Maya Schlegel scoring off a quick inside pass from senior
MJ Callahan. It was the third time the two players teamed up for a goal this season.
The Red Hawks (2-4) tied the game back up two minutes into the fourth quarter, but the Mules reclaimed the lead again on a goal by junior
Jocelyn Morgan with 5:04 left.
Montclair scored the tying goal with just 1:53 remaining in regulation, then netted the winner on a penalty stroke less than two minutes into overtime.
